69 Cougar Eliminator dash emblem

Does anyone know who may offer the passenger side dash emblem beside the clock? it just say’s “COUGAR” not sure if it’s unique to just the Eliminator.

The right side dash “COUGAR” emblem is not unique to the Eliminator. It is the same emblem that is used on all 1969-1970 standard Cougars. There are 2 versions, one is plastic and the other is metal. The plastic ones usually start to curl up on the ends and like most plastic emblems the chrome peels off. Most people prefer to find a metal emblem. There probably would be at least a small market for a good reproduction of this emblem.

There is a metal one on ebay right now - along with the standard dash panel.

Hello Tank, I have a NOS Std (woodgrain) passenger side dash fascia panel.
The woodgrain is damaged, but the Cougar emblem is perfect. The emblem would have to be removed and installed on your camera case fascia panel. If interested, I can send photos to you.

Randy where have you seen a metal version of this emblem? Original or repro? My 69 is an early January build and has the plastic. I would be very interested in a metal one. The one in the above eBay link is plastic. You can see the right side curling up.

You can see both the plastic and metal emblems on the WCCC website. The information that I have is that the plastic emblem was used for the 1969s and the metal emblem for the 1970 models.

I contacted the seller of this pass. side dash insert ( plus the Cougar nameplate ) and this was his response:

My 69 Eliminator has a build date of 4/25/69. The car came with the metal emblem.

Hello Tom, The NOS dash emblem on the panel assy is plastic.
Sorry for the slow response… Had a busy week.

I would buy one. The edges on the plastic ones curl up and the chrome on the metal ones is not very good and is hard to find one that is not pitted up.
