Hello all, I just installed a restored front bumper from WCCC.
The bumper looks great on the car, but one end sticks out a little too far on one side, I’m talking side to side one corner sticks out a little too far by the side of the fender extension. Is there a way to adjust the bumper side by side?
I loosened the four bumper bolts, but was not able to get any side to side adjustment?
I understand these cars were mas produced and brand new cars had alignment issues. I’m just hoping there may be some adjustment I can try.
Can you share a picture of the side that looks right and the side that doesn’t? I am no bodyman, but bent brackets, a misaligned fender, or just needing to tweak the end of the bumper itself to bend it into place are all possible issues that come to mind. I bought a mini pogo stick like this one after watching a WCCC video on fixing bumper issues and it was super easy to get some weird bends out of mine.

Then again, depending on what your photos show ( if you post some images to this thread ) the hustler stick might not be of any help. You might have to apply a force between the end of the bumper ( where it sticks out beyond the body line ) and something immovable ( like a brick wall or a large / strong post ) to get some ‘compressive’ force on the side edge of the bumper.

How does the center point of the bumper line up with the center line of the car?

Looks ok.
you may need to adjust the holes in the mounting brackets some. Adjust you say? massage the holes with a die grinder to move the bumper to one side
Out of my league now. The paint and chrome look so good I would hate to make a suggestion that would mar any of it.

not the chrome bumper, the bumper mounts need to be tweaked or adjusted/massaged
Hi !
After looking at your picture ,I don’t think that the bumper is the culprit ,especially if your bumper is center with the car I would look at the bottom front passenger side fender adjustment and at fwd attachment at the radiator support also loose the bolt at the valence.
I don’t thing the pogo stick is a good idea for your situation ( its more to correct the tilt of the bumper ) you probably end up with cracked chrome.
