Working on dropping a Windsor in a 69 convertible with the mounts specified from WCCC. I’m an inch out on the drivers side. Does anyone have any ideas for me? Right now I’m wondering if moving the top bolt to the lower hole will bring the mount up.
That’s another question. Any idea what the distance hole to hole should be? It honestly doesn’t look spread or bent, but I have been thinking about that.
If you have the C7** insulator mounts, then you have what would have been installed at the factory. But are not reproduced. See by at the picture you posted, I have questions. 1, it looks like it is broken 2, it is not the original that a convertible came with.
The frame mounts used for 1969 and 70 Convertibles are the same as used on big blocks. Note the location of the outer bolt.
Note, you could take out that bolt, loosen the other so it can rotate. Then lower the engine it to place. Then after makeing sure both frame mounts are in the same (but oppisite) location drill a new hole.
The engine and frame mounts came from WCCC in July and they spec’d them for a 69 convertible with a 351. But I should add that it was a work around they had devised because the original style aren’t produced anymore(?). I will call them in their mint to double check the part numbers they told me before I start any sort of drilling.
I did pop out the top bolt to see if the mount would make it to the lower bolt hole, but even pivoting it didn’t seem to move it in the direction I needed.
I should also note that loosening the passenger side, and doing some shimmys and shakes, I’m now about 3/4 of the hole out, so maybe half an inch.
