On a 70 cougar with glue in windows I have a 69 window with the chrome strip butted up against a 70 quarter window with also a weather strip. Tight fit but they fit Question: Are the 69 and 70 glue in glass the same? If so then all I have to do is remove the chrome strip off the 69 door glass and the gap will be good to go Correct?
No, 1969 and 1970 glue in glass, are not the same. All 1970 glass, whether glue in or bolt in was sized to work only with 1970 quarter glass, (which always had the seal a trim attached).
OK Thanks. For the info It won’t deter me Just have to ride with the windows down
Door glass on a 69 is a bit longer than 70 glass. I think the 70 quarter glass is a bit longer, front-to-back, than the 69 quarter too.
To get a real lesson and appreciation about 69 & 70 door glass and quarter glass differences check out the video on West Coast Classic Cougar’s website. It’s a long 42 + minute video but Don really explains the differences on the windows in great detail in the last 4 minutes or so of the video. Here is a link to the video for your convenience.
