69 wheels on a 67/68

I’ve been thinking of putting 69 style steel wheels on my blue 68 Cougar for a couple of years now. I have a couple extra sets. I’m kind of surprised you don’t see it done very often. I think it’s a good look. Maybe I can start a new trend

Had them on my '67 DGS, but I took out the polished inserts and painted the wheels matte black.

I’ve had them on my Nordic Blue '67 for the past 10 years. The blue running cat centers make 'em look like they belong.

They look good! I like the 1968 - 1969 brushed finish trim rings better, kind of hard to find though…

Chris - Do you have pictures? I would like to see how they look.

I have a set of the brushed rings NOS in the box. Won’t be using them on my 68 driver…
I would most likely buy the repo rings and scuff them up.

I can’t access image hosting sites from work  PM me your cell # & I’ll send you one.

Thanks Bill!

looks great Chris. You and Phil are the ultimate trend setters. I’m late to the party as usual :unamused:
I think I’m going to add this to the list for next summer.

Thanks Brian, but don’t give me too much credit, I just had them laying around. Initially I bought them for the R Code, thinking I’d drive it more often than I do. Over the years I discovered that for the 5-10x/year I drive the R Code, the original ss wheels & bias ply tires work just fine.
