69 xr7 door trims and drip rails

Hey from Finland. What is correct way to mount those trims to door? That chrome trim from top of door, that is mounted to beltline weatherstrip. Mine was mounted with blind rivets but there is no enough space to do that :unamused:
Another question, under my drip rails was some kind of seal/tape, what do you put under drip rails? Nothing?

Hey from Colorado!
If I understand correctly:

  1. The XR-7 door top chrome(s) have the beltline rubber attached to them by little clips stapled to the rubber when they are Mfg.
These clips have 2 tabs that are bent over in the square holes of the door top trim. This is then screwed to the door by large head Phillips screws.

NOT RIVETS! Folks!

To allow access to the screw holes in the door, remove the bottom rubber stop.
The glass will then go low enough to access all the holes in the trim & door.

Drip rails: If you are referring to the A- pillar to C- pillar weatherstrip retainers, they did get a thin sealant. I’ve no found the exact replacement, but be careful, too thick of sealant will cause issues to the retainers.

If by chance you are talking about the drip rails (shiny trim on top of body next to top) there is no sealant except what the factory used before painting.

Hope this helps!

Thank you! That helped a lot!
