Does anybody know the Part numbers for 4-speed shift rods for a 1970 boss 302 Eliminator ? Or have a set for sale. ,I purchased a set for a 70 boss Mustang but they don’t fit . Thanks John
Cougar and Mustang transmissions, shifters, and shift rods, are all the same, year for year, engine for engine.
Johnnic, can you post pics of what you have?
That might help us get to the bottom of it.

This auction has pictures of the 1970 Hurst shifter and rods showing D0ZA part numbers.
That shifter housing is not correct for a Boss, it does not have an offset .
The difference could be the 302 boss is close racial(sp) and most others came with wide 4 speed transmissions.
There is no difference between wide or close ratio trans. as far as shifter or shift rods. The ones badcat has shown are not for any Cougar or mustang I have seen, the shifter sits to far to the left, almost like the fox bodies cars.
1970 Boss 302’s and 351’s were available with both the close and the wide ratio transmission. The 1970 428’s with a manual transmission were all close ratio transmissions. As Carleton stated the shifters were all the same as the cases were interchangeable, only the internals and tailhousings are different, close ratio versus wide ratio and spline counts on the shafts.
John Nic - the shift rods that I purchased are exactly like the ones show under Bad Catt They are part #s DOZA-7328-C , DOZA-7326-E and DOZA-7b112-C I have seen many listings with these part #'s that fit the Boss Mustang . I will post pictures of my “cobbled/welded” shift rods which were on my car and work , but sometimes bind up. If anybody has their part #'s it would sure help clear this up. Thanks John
