Hello cougar community,

I have a question regarding original wheel and tire sizes. Was it possible in 1970 to order your cougar with 15 inch wheels from the factory? Or was there a dealer option for 15 inch wheels? If so, are there any pictures of old sales brochures where you can see the factory wheel sizes?

So would the 1971 429CJ with Styled steel wheels have 14 or 15 inch size? I thought that the Styled steels were always 14 inch…

Factory styled steels were 14s only. My understanding is that to get 15s, the buyer had to settle for plain steelies like this:

Of course Magnum 500s and many other aftermarket wheels were available in 15" sizes for dealer or consumer installation.
