70 Power Steering pump color

I’ve been researching a little and most places say Teal Blue is the correct color for the 70 Power Steering pump. I’ve seen a couple say black. I even went and looked at several pics of unrestored 70 Stangs and they are Teal Blue. Anyone have correct pics for a 70 Cougar?

So, who has painted their’s Teal Blue and where do I get the correct paint?

Jeff Speegle, this may be a good question for you. I saw some old posts on the Mustang forum about NPD have a rattle can, but I don’t see it on their website.

…and a second thought, why was the power steering pump Teal Blue and not just the same normal blue as the engine???

Here is some information on pump color. It depends on what manufacture built it.

Badcatt, that’s the exact article I was reading. I just want to know if anyone has painted their’s Teal blue and what paint did they actually use.

You just didn’t look good enough, NPD part# AP-PSPE $13.50

Catlover, thanks. The next question is to figure out which pump I have since this paint is for the Thompson F code…

1967-1973 COUGAR W/ FORD THOMPSON P/S PUMP, TAG CODE F

Should be a tag on the back of your PS pump. There is some good info on the 428CJ website. The bottom of this page describes how to read the tag and figure out which pump you have.
