I was directed to this forum by WCCC. Thanks for the add! I purchased a 71 XR7 Convertible recently. It is a C code. It has a 351c2v in the engine bay that the original owner claims has never been replaced. Looks very original. The car has been sitting in a garage since 79.I have a Marti report.Lots of questions! Lol Will post some pics when admin allows.
Welcome. Looks like a great place to start!
Is that original paint?
Welcome to the forum from another 71 owner! Looks like a well optioned car and the Bright Lime Green paint is an awesome color that is rare and rarely seen.
I think you might be confused by the “code”, which refers to the fifth digit of the VIN - the engine. A C-code would be a 429CJ. If the car is an original 351C-2V car, then it would be an H-code. Your VIN should read 1F94Hxxxxxx. If it reads 1F94Cxxxxxx then you have a 429CJ convertible, which is a rare beast indeed.
