‘71 XR7 M code convertible

30 years ago I bought my first Mercury Cougar (a 1971 M Code XR7 convertible). 26 years ago I sold it to someone that became a life long friend, Art Schuetze. Last weekend I visited Art and his son AJ with my truck and trailer and brought the car back to my shop / ownership.

I look forward to getting the car roadworthy and taking my good friends for a ride in it once again, and hopefully sharing the car with my fellow Cougar enthusiasts in Carlisle.

Jim,
Nice to hear from you, I’m happy you got your old Cougar back. I hope to see your posts as you get it back up and driving.

Art is the very definition of “gentle giant”. Just a sweet sweet guy who, for as long as he was able, made it to every Delmarva Cougar Club gathering.

It’s fitting that your old Cougar is back in your garage Jim and you are the perfect person to get that cat back on it’s feet again.

I’m looking forward to lending a hand - like drinking your beer and talking to Katie while I hand you the occasional tool…
