Surprised that they didn’t test the 351C Cougar against the 350 Cutlass. Or the 455 Cutlass against the 460 Cougar. Either way the Cutlass was a better handling car. The Cougar was probably nicer inside.
If the Cougar had a 351 it MAY have handled a little better with less weigh on the front tires. But I think the Cutlass chassis had more engineering time behind it. But the 74 through 79 Cougars were not intended to be nimble. Rather to have that Big car ride.
The thing is the 351C-4V Cougar was a little faster than the 460 even though it gave up 110 cubic inches. It was the last hurrah for a great engine.
