7F91C523668 Owned by famous family

Saw this on Craigslist. Said to be one of three purchased by the same famous family. Anybody know the story?

Which famous family?

Yeah. Who?

I don’t know anything but what I read in the ad. I wondered if anyone was familiar with it or if it’s in the registry?

I saw a post somewhere with (I think) Martha Rae driving a 67 Cougar.

On the old forum there was a member that was trying to trace his 1967 or 1968 Cougar back to DeForest Kelley.
The actor who played “Bones” on Star Trek 1. Not sure he ever found out for sure though.

It is not currently on the national database; but, Phil will put it on there now

Seems like a nice car. I would not add any value based on a previous owner unless perhaps that owner had been a double naught spy’s girlfriend.

Door tag has an E paint code. I don’t see that as an option in 1967.

Good catch! E was a 1967 Mustang color called “Beige Mist” sort of a metallic dusk rose color. I wonder if somehow this car was painted that color? The build tag matches, so it was apparently the case. It looks black now so maybe a color change?

Well I just checked - it seems that Mercury offered the same color in 1967 but used the name “Cumberland Beige” to describe it.

Looks nice

I saw the Cumberland Beige earlier but it’s not noted as a Cougar color option so I was curious.

Sometimes colors were only available as “standard” for part of a year.
According to Kevin Marti’s COUGAR by the numbers “E” was only used on 844 1967 Cougars and they were all 91’s, no XR7’s.
