Does anyone know the original a/c capacity for a 68 cougar. Converting to 134a with different compressor and hose routing but it will give me a place to start
Capacity stock with R12 is 1 3/4 LBS. 134A is much less efficient so the AC will not cool as well.

…it has smaller molecules and tends to leak more and needs more fan on the rad to disapate heat. New style hoses will help the leaks but you may have some compression fittings left in the system. Some one makes conical oring washers that might help
Yes, correct on all accounts, thanks for the info. I upgraded the radiator and condensor and have electric wirred in to work with head pressure
Electric Fan wirred in to work wirred in to work with the head pressure
With R134A expect the system to cool around 5 degrees warmer if the evaporator and condenser are the same size.
