Has anyone replaced the A/C control switch in a 68. Do you have to remove the instrument panel?
Is it close to the fuse box. Just need a good description of its location.

No just remove the A/C control panel if you mean the fan /compressor switch.

I did remove the heat a/c control assembly. Was curious how the compressor was activated and it’s by vacuum. I suspect that the a/c stopped working because of the a/c control switch which is located under the dash to the right of the steering wheel column. The easiest way I found to get to it was to remove the ashtray. Behind that is the vacuum solenoid. Remove the solenoid. The switch is mounted to the top right. Removed the a/c switch, took it apart and cleaned the contacts. Applied electric grease. Hope this solves the problem.
