The valves on the head of the compressor that connect to the hoses, are they Black as the compressor or are they bare metal? Thanks
Bare metal.
They are zinc plated steel. A silver color.
My ( too hasty ) a response - they are indeed plated. Have a look at these images:
These are reproduction but the original and NOS ones I have look the same in regards to the finish. The valve stem caps (are not colored plastic ) and should be Aluminium and they also are missing the brass cap used to cover the service fill-valve.
