The incandescents are white on the 69. Years ago, I painted the taillights buckets white because the metallic silver color was so dark, was so hard to see the lights

Interesting the color matching of the export brace to the body color.
I had Ginger out to the Shoreline Cars and coffee today. Great day for a drive.
Here’s the Video I did of the drive and the cars. There is another 1970 Cougar XR-7 Convertible. But I messed a very nice 1968 6.5 litre.

This was a far younger me, buying my first Cougar on the Maryland eastern shore in 1986. I think I was remarking on the “ease” of changing sparkplugs on a 428CJ with thermactor emissions…

I don’t know as the PO had it painted. It’s a 10’ job or 5’ at 40mph!
This is the current state of the restoration of my 1969 Mercury Cougar.

Swapped a 351w in place of the old 302. It still needs some tuning, but it’s running and feels pretty healthy.

My 67 Cougar, major project car with much more to go. So far, swapped a 347 with port fuel injection from Prestige Motorsports and a 4R70W transmission. Added NuRelics power windows and cpp power steering conversion. Just installed Eaton rear springs
