adding oil pressure gauge, etc

IF I wanted to add extra gauges, I believe , and I may be wrong, mainly because its laying in the trunk and I haven’t looked at it lately, but I believe my standard Cougar has speedometer, and then fuel, coolant gauges but an AMP light and oil light… If I wanted to install oil pressure gauges and volt gauge, do I need to pull the bulbs on the stock lights before reassembly if they won’t be hooked up? Didnt know if the sensor not connected would cause them to believe they need to be on… When I start reassembly, I want to do it once or as few times as possible and not have to take it back out to yank a bulb to get rid of it etc… I dont really see the need to have both hooked up on the oil pressure side… it would go to the same sender extension on the side of the block right? guess the amp light can stay just fine.

No need to remove them, you can get tricky and make both the light and gauge work.

Do yourself a favor if adding oil pressure gauge, trash the plastic tubing and do it right with this copper line kit. :smoke:

or use an electronic gauge instead of mechanical
