Adustable rockers for 67 390

Hi everybody, I was talking to Don the other day about changing out the rockers on my 67 XR7 GT 390 engine to adjustables. Don said that someone had recently done that with their 427. Wanted to see if anyone had brand recommendations or if you’ve done it the best brand and part numbers for the shaft mounted adjustable rockers and the pushrods. Thank you very much

Are you keeping the hydraulic lifters?

Harland Sharp rockers, Smith Brothers pushrods, Precision Oil Pumps rocker shafts and support stands. Used this combination on the last 5 FE’s that I built. You can use factory 427 Low Riser parts or their auto part store replacements, but that route is equally expensive and not as good.

Yes, I am keeping the hydraulic lifters. I had the original rocker shafts re done with new standard rockers, etc. I’m looking to replace the new original style rockers with adjustables. I have looked at the Harland Sharp Rockers and am looking for a few suggestions on brands, part numbers, etc. Thanks.

Check these out, I have not used them, company seems good.

If you have shafts, you can go with the Crane adjustable steel and ductile iron adjustable rockers. Around $450-$475 a set. I don’t trust aluminum anything for internal engine parts. Every time aluminum cycles it is one step closer to failure. That is just a metallurgical fact. Same reason chevy LS guys are using aftermarket iron blocks if they’re pushing real horses. STRENGTH! Do what you want, but for my money, durability is worth a ciuple ponies. Especially on a car that is seeing mainly street duty.

Thanks for the help!
