Were all G cars initially built in Dearborn Michigan then shipped to AO Smith for the conversion, or were some built in Santa Jose ca

All 68 XR7 Cougars scheduled to be G’s were built in Dearborn and shipped to AO smith. AO Smith was located in Ionia MI about an hour and a half away from Dearborn. Would of added a lot of cost to ship them from CA to MI for the conversion.
