Greetings, I just installed a 1-wire alternator and wanted to connect the AMP light to the left terminal on the alternator. I can not find the amp light wire in the engine bay. Anyone been able to complete this installation?
Thanks, Dr. Deeg
Your best bet will be to look at the schematic for your car and follow it. I suspect that it might be at the voltage regulator. I hope you can figure this out as I don’t recall anyone getting it to work with a one wire alternator.
I’m installing a one wire alternator tomorrow using the CVF serpentine belt system. Ordered the 100 amp alternator and billet ford power steering pump. I want the idiot light to work. Will be installing an 11 volt sensor module. Which wire under the hood is for the idiot light? I plan on removing the voltage regulator and cutting off the harness somewhere for it. Shrink wrap each wire then shrink wrap the bundle. Help!
As Bill noted above, you should check out the schematic for your vehicle for the specifics.
