… or how I fit six vehicles in a space a little larger than a 2.5 car garage… WITHOUT a lift.
You fair weather climate guys don’t have this problem. But for those of us in the rust belt, it’s a constant struggle. The more toys you have, the more space you need. Problem here is that my list of toys has increased, but my space has remained constant. Granted two of the “vehicles” are go-carts, but there are also two minibikes in there too.
Take a look. It’s a tight fit. The T-Bird is on wheel skates so I can put it against the back wall. But those Oldsmobiles are HUGE. Still I can get everything in there while leaving my “dirty room” wide open for any winter projects.
That is close, I bet the wheel skates helped, I would like to get some for this reason.
On another note, Your black 1979 Oldsmobile beside your cougar is like my son’s car. He is in the need for a rear bumper and another spacer between the rear fender and bumper. Would you know where he may find a nice one?
I haven’t yet priced parts for the Olds. That was the most recent addition to the fleet. I’m using it as a daily driver until it snows. It’s snowing here and there now so it’s days are definitely numbered.
But I’m also a member on ClassicOldsmobile.com. Perhaps that would be a good place to start looking.
In my best Clinton voice “I feel your pain”. I had to do a major pack it in job this year as well. Planning on a 24X40 garage expansion in the not to distant future. I like the olds and it’s nice to see a few being saved. My parent had a 79 olds 98 regency 2dr and my grandma had a 78 olds delta 88 2dr. I had a 73 olds wagon and a 73 delta 88 2dr I used as winter cars back in the day…
Thanks guys! I’ll be the first to admit that the current composition was NOT my first attempt. I failed miserably twice before being successful getting everything in. Yes, I have played Tetris before.
I’m also an Olds fan. The 75 Vert is actually my wife’s. I picked that up about 7-8 years ago and finished the resto 3 years ago. It’s an almost identical twin to what she drove in high school… albeit a TON nicer. The 78 Delta 88 2 dr. is my current daily driver. It’s a 2 owner car with 66K miles and SUPER clean. I added the 15" Olds Rally wheels (not in the pic), a Sirius/XM /CD stereo and a host of other minor mechanical upgrades. Both cars run Rocket 350s and 4Vs.
Nope… no diesels even though they could be had in that era.
Family friend bought a ton of them at the time and swapped gas engines into them and resold them. Then he came up with a recipe to keep the diesel bottom end for low end torque yet convert the top for pump gas. But he only built one like that. And I have no clue where that car ended up.
