An ounce of prevention....

Made it home, the car is still here.

A written death threat?

Hmmm…

Better teach those thieves to read!

This looks like a written confession, Just make sure no one shows up dead on your door step, you may have to get rid of the evidence. A beware of owner sign might be better, or better yet, if they take your car, make sure you have a recording of your message in the tape player. Once the car is started up, it plays out the message and then self destructs giving off a toxic gas to disable them. Your car should also be equipped with a go home mode. As a reward for your “Nice Kitty” coming home, you reward it with a Wax spa and fresh oil change. A fill up of Sunoco Gold 94 will also be rewarded as well.
In this case, a beware of Cat sign might be in order. MMMMMMMmmmmmm…NICE KITTY!!! :smiling_imp:

I see it as more of a written agreement.

Considering whoever it is broke into my elderly neighbors house while she was sleeping, went in her bedroom and took her keys out of her purse and stole her car last night, all without waking her up, they clearly have very little fear.

If they brake into my house, it will be self defense.

That sounds like an inside job. Does she have any kids who are shady?

It is just the way these young thieves are like, no fear. My mother in law, had her garage broke into. They must have cased out the place in advance, because they knew what they were doing. Then a month later, decided to try and brake into her house when she was asleep as well. They unscrewed the light from the motion detecter and once passed the screen door, started to pry on the door frame with crow bars. The only thing that stopped them from going any further was a small little dollar store alarm that was mounted on the door. It was the type that once the door is opened a magnet switch inside started the thing going. They had the door open far enough for the thing to work momentarily before the door snapped back.
We then had an ADT alarm system put in and has never had a problem since. This has given her great peace of mind and us as well. There has been cases of elderly women getting raped and even killed in the process of steeling them blind.
One thing that is a good deterrent, are signs. You can print off even your own ADT signs (not real) off of the internet and have them placed around you property, on the doors and windows of your house and garage. This will at least make them think there is an alarm system and make them think twice. I have thought of even putting motion detectors in my garage, so if they were to get in, I could have it set off an alarm in my house/bedroom, so I know they are in there or, have it set off the loudest set of horns I could find in the garage itself.
Even the dollar store alarms, have two or three of them on the door, They will have a hard time figuring out where they are coming from and even of they do shut one off there are still more of them. They won’t stick around.

I like this sign.
My neighbor had the Smith & Wesson sign.
We had our house broke into once. Someone we knew saw us at a restaurant late at night, knew we weren’t home.
But, we got home in time he was still there. I chased his car got the plate #, he got caught.

What did I miss?! Is this part of another thread??

Gosh! i’m sure glad you asked that…

well? answers anyone?

I will let fordblue comment on that.

zman hate to hear that your house was broken into but at least they caught the low life. I have been there myself, they even stold my shower curtin. I really like the signs you posted. Very cool.

We pulled in the driveway I asked my wife if she left a light on upstairs, she says no. We get out of the car start walking towards the house and the light goes out, I said get back in the car. Went to the neighbors called the cops. While we are there I see the thief driving away so we chased him got the plate number then backed off.

They stole your shower curtain? WTH
Ever find out who did it?

No the police never had any luck. They stole a lot of little stuff. I was working a 24hr shift so they had plenty of time to go through everything I owned. Must have been “dirty” little punks. It just a terrible feeling to know someone was in your home.

My Boss got broke into a few years ago. They backed a moving van up and took everything as quickly as possible. Then at a safer place, threw away what they couldn’t sell. They took the draws out of the cabinets full of stuff and even cut out around the walls and removed the carpet and the sump pump from the basement. Eight months later after insurance replace with new stuff. They came back and did it again in the same manner. An alarm was installed and they defeated it at one window and got inside to dis arm it. They sold the house and built a new one as they lost their since of security at that place. One neighbor seen them the second time and figured they were just moving new stuff in from the previous break in. Now a few years have passed. The items they miss most are family pictures and VHS tapes of their kids which can’t be replaced.

I had printed a sign and put it on the window of my Cougar after a series a break ins in and car thefts in my neighborhood.

It said the car is well known and registered with many registries, so I will find anyone who steals it and tries to sell it whole or for parts.

I also stated that their very short life expectancy would be a new problem for them…

Ahhh! This makes more sense to me now.

Sorry to hear about your break in,this is why I have 2 rottweilers.if you make it past the 80lb female, who’ll meet you first, her 130lb back up will get you

My father-in-law had a good deterrent to protect his factory. He had concrete reinforcing mesh behind each window, connected to a cattle fence power unit. When it sensed that the mesh had been earthed it fired of a quick shot of voltage through the mesh. Probably not recommended for home but there was burnt flesh on the mesh more than once.
