They are using my artwork - they just removed “CLUB OF AMERICA” from the CCOA logo I did.

Did you mention it?
That’s not cool!
No, I haven’t reached out to them. I don’t have the time right now and I don’t know that it would do any good.
The thing I think about when I see this sort of thing is, I did those in the early '80s before computers were widely used for graphics. I inked that “running cat” and the “Cougar” script on vellum with my trusty Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph pens. When finished I took my art into the stat room and shot a variety of photostats, enlarging my line drawings oversized and reducing them way down.
Years later I took the biggest stats, scanned them into my computer and had Adobe Illustrator trace them.
I could guard my original art like a mother hen back in the “old days”, but once digitized and used on the web - well - this is the world us old school graphics people live in now.
That, and AI stealing from real creatives.
Is it too early to start drinking?..

I didn’t know that was a thing!

I’m sure it wasn’t malicious, as everything I’ve seen makes me believe they are good people. The two just got married (no, not the two guys). I’d bet they’d even put in a plug the next time they do something with the car.
Oh, I know it’s not malicious - they are not trying to cause harm. But what it is is lazy and it is theft. That is a professional designed and created graphic and having it on their promotional window, the one that is meant to entice people to click on their video, makes them look more professional/legit. They snatched my graphic off the web and took the time to remove “CLUB OF AMERICA”.
And I don’t need or want any sort of plug from these guys. That logo they nicked is owned by the Cougar Club of America - which BTW uses Ford trademarks with permission.
I want to say that my response here on the forum probably comes across as angry, and I’m not at all. I’ve been making a living as a graphic artist for almost 50 years now - this sort of stuff happens constantly (unfortunately).
