Are there any vendors that make parts for a bench seat?

Any vendors that make parts for a bench seat in a 68 Standard Cougar?
I looked on WCCC and didn’t see anything. The bracket on the armrest is broken on mine.

You might call WCCC and talk to a person and ask the question. I sincerely doubt it. Normally you would need to take the seat to an upholsterer. That is a super rare option.

I’ve got a 68 decor bench seat. Are you talking about the covers on the metal parts that hold the center? Mine have always been missing. If I could get ahold of one, even broken I’d try to 3d print some now ones. Took me a long time to even find a picture.

I’ll have to take a photo soon as I get the car back from some electrical work.

So what is missing or is it just popped out of the bracket?

Looks like the pivot pin and bushing are broken off

Easy fix or…

Looks like the steel flat bar piece that looks like a 50s ford v8 emblem is the main support and the large center hole is the pivot hole. The5_16 or 3/8 pin needs to move toward the front of the car and when the seat back pivots foreward , the pin rides over th center hump and stops on the front inside v
When standing the seat back to normal position , the pin rotates clockwise and stop on the rear v. That could take place inside the orig seat cover…never seen one

Here’s the image from the MPC for the 1967-70 Cougar bench seat, with the armrest. You’ll notice that the “Cover Kit” is basic 60050, which I couldn’t locate. I was hoping to find a p/n for the bracket ( because the armrest itself doesn’t seem to have a basic p/n pointing to it ? ) In that way I might be able to determine if the p/n has a broader application than just Cougars and Mustangs ( I was hoping to find a number like C7AZ, C8OZ or C9DZ ) which would mean that there was some body line overlap in parts for the armrest hinge and bracket assembly, and perhaps you might get lucky and find one on-line.
Failing that, I guess a trip to the auto parts recycling lot is in order.

What does the other side look like? Is it broken too?

The factory supplied a repair kit for that during the 1970’s. It was a known factory defect. Kits are still available : 1968-70 Mustang and 1974-78 Mustang Seat Back Reinforcement Brackets | eBay

Other side appears to be fine.

Thanks for the help.

Thank you Royce.

The bucket seat pivot pin repair kits [ part of 1977 recall ( as evidenced by the first two digits “69” in the service part number as opposed to the more common 65 or 76 ) , which Ford diplomatically termed a “campaign” ] had part numbers D7ZZ-69618C46 and 47-A
These were for the pivot pin which was welded to the bucket seat frame and didn’t have anything to do with the armrest bracket(s) breakage issue in the bench seat.
I had these brackets replaced on a Cougar that I had ( at the time ) by the local Lincoln Mercury dealership - they weren’t happy, as the repair took a LOT longer than the amount of time that Ford ‘allotted’ for the repair.
This involved the seat removal, peeling back of the side vinyl seat cover, grinding off the old pin, mounting the new bracket/pin, and drilling a hole for the new bolt, repositioning the vinyl material, and reinstalling the seat ( seat removal and re-installation required hoist time as well ! )

Then looking at the good side should show what it missing or damaged on the bad side.

When I reupholstered mine the center is just a wooden board and foam inside. Hope that helps. It’s good to see that picture from the manual. So few of the bench seat cars around.
