Automatic Choke Heat input line

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement for the choke heat input line coming from the exhaust manifold that threads into the choke assembly? The nipple on the end that fits into the manifold has broken off so the tube won’t stay seated in the manifold. I’m having minor cold starting issues with the car and I’m going the through choke parts to see if this is my culprit.

You didn’t say what year and engine, but … Here for 67/68 289/302 … https://secure.cougarpartscatalog.com/muk1001-oe.html
It’s called Heat Riser - Choke Tube Kit.

Its far from concours correct, but a universal kit is available from Amazon or your local parts store that carries Dorman products. https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-55111-HELP-Choke-Stove/dp/B001HZKEPS

You’re right, I forgot to mention the engine. My mistake. 69 351w 2v. And yeah, a big part of why I couldn’t find the part was I wasn’t sure what it was named in a search data base. Thanks guys.

So, I bought a heat riser/choke tube kit and this is what I have going on. It doesn’t quite fit as I hoped. You guys think maybe that manifold is not correct for the 69 351w?

You have to hand bend it a bit to get it to fit. It’s a reproduction, that’s the way they are.

Single Malt,

I have one from my 69 351W 4V assuming it is interchangable with the 2V Windsor.

I don’t think that tube is your cold start problem. It senses the heat to shut off the choke. I think if it isn’t sitting in the manifold, it would just keep the choke on longer because it would take longer to heat up.

I had one on my 66 289, and when I went to headers, I just let it sit against the header, and it still seemed to work ok.

Hey, thanks guys. Yeah, I was pretty sure it is not the single cause to the cold start issue. But since I have to get it addressed as well, I figured I’d fix everything wrong I could while I was at it. I’ll do some bending on the tube and get it lined up better. That was my first inclination, but I wanted to make sure I didn’t something else going on that I wasn’t aware of. It’s a learning curve for me… We never messed much with Ford/Mercury when my Dad showed me his knowledge. Again, thank you all for the advice.

I’m having similar issues with my 390…67 GT.
I’ve got a holly 650. Very experienced carb man
Just told me he thinks my spring I’m choke mechanism may be wore out. Gonna try that .
My Choke tube barely wants to stay in the hole as well but a little bending and it will stay.
