1968 Mercury Cougar XR7 – Could be a good project for someone with all-around resto skills.

1973 Cougar XR-7 – Nice, clean phat cat, looks ready for driving. Check out the groovy interior, too! Was that a stock option?

I don’t think it was. I have some literature at home and will look this evening.
It is interesting. I don’t think I could live with it long though.

The 73 looks good and I could live with the interior for a while but the wheel/rims would be the first thing I’d change.

Didn’t notice the vid link for the 73. Interior fabric is not original; original was houndstooth.

Wheels/tires, and drop the back end a bit…

73: Some neat mods, the hood scoop looks well done (although the Cougar style would be better IMO), the spoiler, the sub-frame connectors. Given the scope of the mods, would not be a surprise if the seat fabric is not OEM. Pretty nice phat cat I’d say! Definitely someone’s baby.

68: Yuma, know it well, spent a lot of time there some years ago (and visited Bill B regularly!). Car looks like it has a lot of potential!

Pretty informative video on the phat cat on the walk around. For me those seats would have to go, then the hood scoop , spoiler and get rid of the shackles. But looks like its been well maintained , just don’t think the market right now on phat cats will bring it 12K. :smoke:
