Bad Water Pump?

Ok fellahs, this is a pic from a car I may be going to look over soon. Looks to me like something has been leaking here for a while, and the only thing I could think of is Water Pump, or maybe the radiator hose where it goes into the block. So I thought I would bounce it off the experts here.

351C, or is supposed to be.

Thanks in advance,

I would say bad water pump because the leak is limited to the area just below the water pump.

Considering the area and the type of streaking, water pump. The coolant is washing the pan down and then the bare metal is rusting. If it was an oil leak it would do the opposite and keep it from rusting. Since it straight below the water pump and crank balancer, I would bet it is coming out the seep hole on the bottom of the pump.

Cool, thanks fellahs.

My 68 has been in the garage all winter while I worked on other items. Now I too have noticed a very tiny leak that was not there before and it appears to be from the water pump. My car has a 302 F code with 87,000 miles on the speedometer, and if I do have to pull the water pump what are your thoughts about replacing the timing chain at the same time? What has been members experience in regards to the life expectancy of the chain?
