Battery drain 67 XR7 289

Just got this car and the brand new battery gets drained. There evidently is something on when the car is off, but it is nothing evident like a cabin light.

Any thoughts on a likely culprit?

Was told to put a volt meter between the negative terminal and cable then start pulling fuses till the voltage goes away.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Paul. Paul here. Grounds, always start with the grounds. These old cars NEED 12 volts consistently THROUGHOUT the car. Stem to stern!!!

That’s good advice, grounds are an issue. Don’t use a volt meter use a 12v test light. Pull one fues at a time and observe what circuit makes the light go out. Radio and glovebox lights are common. Good luck.
