belt line weatherstrips

What is involved in replacing the door window beltline weatherstrips on my 1968 Cougar?

Remove the door panel, remove the rubber stop in the bottom of the door, lower the window all the way down and then using two small screwdrivers on each side of the clips holding the strips on, pop them off.
There may be a screw at each end of the ones on the door. Good luck

Rather than starting another thread about this I thought I would ask here. I am having some similar issues as described in the “reviews” section on WCC site about my door outer beltlines not staying clipped in place when rolling the window down on passengers side. I have it adjusted so the tip of the strip just makes contact with window glass (not scrubbing hard) My drivers side one won’t install correctly because about 3 of the clips are positioned wrong in the piece and it sits below top of door edge. Thought I read some where that Repop is the only maker of these, which is the ones I have. Also thought I read in another thread where someone either riveted or used small screws to hold them in in lieu of the clips (can’t find it right now)
Looking for thoughts/suggestions?

I removed the clips and used small flat headed screws to hold mine in for the same reason you’re having issues with yours, but that created another problem: the metal backing is easily bent and mine got all wavy from removing the clips so now the window frame snags it when rolling the windows all the way up. I’ve also been very disappointed with the lack of durability of the rubber. After only a year or two of daily driver use, the repop stuff was in worse shape than the 50 year-old original weatherstrip.

You can drill and use screws or pop rivets in the places that won’t stay attached, a lot of the Mustang vendors even supply the screws with the W/S.
