Hey fellas I need to replace the PS pump and pressure hose on my 69 xr7 and I’m wondering what the best pump is to put on. Not looking to rebuild it or spend $200 on a POS.
I’m thinking about the Borg upgraded pump but I don’t want to cause other problems with the power assist (leaks, fitment issues etc)
Any recommendations would be much appreciated!
Talk with Dan at Chockostang. They rebuild these PS systems on a daily basis and can either rebuild your original or set you up with one and the proper hoses.
The GM style pumps have much higher pressure. They are not a good replacement.
Maier offers KRC. No personal experience and curious to hear from anyone who has it.
Any idea what a twin rib water pump is? It’s required with this Mikw Maier kit.
I think this means you need already the appropriate (stock) power steering belt pullies, as they are not included in the kit. KRC also seem to have a serpentine option.
Those things take up alot less space.
