Big block shock tower

I have a reinforced shock tower and thinking of selling it. I bought it for a mustang and was told it was from a cougar and that they were the same. It was slightly different than my other one so I found a different one and have had this in the garage for years. If any interest I’ll unbox it and give more info Thanks

All Cougars received the reinforced shock towers, while for Mustang only the big blocks got them.

I believe there was some variation in the reinforcements year to year, so that is probably the slight difference that you were seeing compared to your other one.

Not quite correct.

In 1967 there were no reinforced shock towers.
In 1968 for the first several months of production there were no reinforced shock towers.
Around the end of March 1968 big block Cougars got reinforced shock towers.
For all of 1968 no small block Cougars had reinforced shock towers.

I think what you are saying is correct for 1969 and later. The '68 shock tower reinforcements are different from 1969 and later.
