So today I went for a cruise and I started hearing blinker noise over my speakers. Plus when I put the brakes on. As some as I tap the brake pedal I hear a tic over the speakers. If I turn up the after market stereo the deck cuts out for a minute. I’ve had the stereo in the car for years with little to no problems. I’m thinking a ground for the stereo? I really don’t know. Any ideas?
Yes, make sure the radio is well grounded. Of course it won’t work if it’s not. More likely a filter capacitor inside your radio has failed. An additional filter in series with power to the radio should fix the problem.

I bought one years ago. Never thought about that. Maybe it no longer doing its job. But that wouldn’t make the stereo cut out would it?
An intermittent connection in the filter could, and so could a bad stereo ground. Try bypassing the filter. Noise might get worse, but if it quits cutting out, the filter is bad and you’ll know it needs replaced. And of course make sure the stereo and the filter are both well grounded to car chassis. Finally, make sure the fuse block contacts are clean and making good contact with the fuse.
That is good information. When I get a chance I’ll try that and let you know if it fixed my issue. Thank you
