Bought This So Now Thinking Of Selling This

Hello All,

Well, I know it’s not a Cougar or even a ford but I bought this from a guy in UT and getting it delivered.

It’s a 69 C-10. It has p/s, p/b and A/C. Less than 82K miles, less than 1500 miles on a new engine and is a one family owner. I currently have a 2001 GMC Stepside with 160K and it is starting to get unreliable and the my wife has been bugging me to get a new truck. So instead of having a payment, I got an old one that is easily fixable should a problem arise.

So, part of the deal of getting this is I think it’s time to sell the Cougar. It’s a Green 1968 XR-7 GT “S” code. The body is super clean with zero rust issues. Original block was busted (Someone let it freeze) but I have a block that is ready to be built. The only parts that I believe I don’t have are, steering wheel, console and brake booster.
Here are some pics:

They aren’t the greatest pictures but I don’t have many but can take more. It came with a bunch of extra parts. I hate to get rid of this car since it would be really cool to have. My plan was to stroke the 390 to 427. I’m not sure what to ask for it. I don’t want to give it away but I also am not looking to make a killing on it. I’d prefer not to use e-bay so that is why I post it here to see if there is any interest or if anyone knows who might want it. I’m near Albany, NY

Thanks,
Jim

Looks pretty nice from what I see…if you were only closer…

Yes, it is a very straight car and the gaps are great. One of the reasons I hate to get rid of it.

Where did it come from originally and what kind of options does it have? How many of the parts that aren’t pictured come with it? I don’t see wheel well moldings, rocker moldings. emblems, 2/3 of the dash, etc.

Jim, I have a running, driving '68 XR-7 GT with no rust issues that I only have about $7K invested in. Another XR-7 GT near me just sold for $5500 in much the same state as yours.

Al Bundy,

I’m not sure about the cars origin, I do have a Marti Report for it though. I’ve had it for about 4 years. I went in with my son on it but he lost interest so it became mine. It has always been stored inside since I’ve owned it. I do have all of the interior parts other than the steering wheel and lower console. Have an upper and I believe I have extra dash pieces too. I don’t believe the car had rocker moldings (See CatVert68’s picture). As for wheel moldings, I don’t I have those.

The Marti report would indicate where it was originally sold. The reason I asked is it would be kind of suspect being that rust free if it’s a northeast car. I’d be curious to see the report if you could scan it. You can PM me or email it to cny 68 cougar @ yahoo .com. No spaces in the address.

Al Bundy,

I will scan the report in tomorrow since I don’t have it with me here at work. I can also take pictures of of any area you would like to see. I currently have the front off of the car so front fenders and frame rails are very accessible.

Jim

Here is the Marti Report.
