Brass restrictor plate install

I’m installing a Robert Shaw 333 Thermostat (the one with the “hat”) and associate brass plate. Are there any clearance specs when installing the brass plate or does it just sit flush down on the shelf? The plate and thermostat actually came together. I got it from Flowcooler. Thanks for any insights.

Yup - the brass restrictor plate presses in until it rests on the shelf cast into the 351C block. And then the thermostat installs with the hat facing down towards the hole in the restrictor plate.
