It seems that companies are doing interesting things to make money at consumers expense.
CJ Pony Parts has decided to deceive the consumer by substituting cheaper quality parts when you order “Premium & Heavy Duty” parts. Specifically the hood hinges & Export Brace.
Twice now Ive ordered hood hinges (Dynacorn heavy duty) and got cheap ACP/ CJ Pony Parts brand junk. same price, no notice of substitution, nothing.
I finally got ahold of a nice guy at CJPony and we chatted in depth. Seems they do this all the time. I got them to pay for 1st returns & call tag the last order.
Didn’t know that about CJ Pony. Luckily so far had only ordered a center armrest/cupholder console from CJP which was fine because it came from a USA Co. hand-building them.
BTW, did you happen to see the nicely overbuilt, HD hinges that Don has @ WCCC? I ordered them both due to originals being worn out, causing popping up rear hood and + good looks in the engine bay refresh… just received a pair here, soon to paint out and install. He has a nice video on them too.
The only thing I have got from CJ was a set of wheels in 2019. No problems then but good heads up on future things. There pricing/sales/ deals always seemed a bit bait and switch
The guy helping me was super nice. I know he’s not responsible so why give him a hard time? I didn’t and he was great at giving me inside info… This is not to bash, but to inform those who think they are buying the best as described in the ad. He stated “they need to correct the pics & description”….
