Bye-Bye MC.net

I did a search for electric headlight conversion, got some results.
Saved a good How To thread on that.
Plan to keep looking for How To’s and saving them.

Leon, you are giving these little sites too much technology credit. Down here at the bottom of the technology food chain processor cycles are a very big deal. Think really small. You may have seen some 404 errors here a week ago. One of the other sites on our shared server briefly hit 100% of processor capability and shut down the rest of us. Of course the host took their site down until they could figure out the problem. We have to stay below 15% utilization to stay out of trouble.

There is no way to know exactly what they are doing but de-indexing stuff would explain much.

I do believe that you know this stuff far better than I, so I am just telling you about what happens in my daily life.

To their credit, they didn’t kill the thread I started or black-list me as a user for starting it. Or maybe they just never noticed…

LOL, that WAS a bit surprising, considering…

Maybe I could get a job setting up load shared clustered servers so there is always enough headroom. Pretty basic stuff if you are a wintel based service provider.

I would have thought someone like the MCN owners would have all that stuff in place but realised they don’t answer to anyone for their service level performance

Since I use an iPhone for nearly all of my mcn browsing, and the screen is tiny and my fingers aren’t, there have been at least a couple times where I went to hit the search box and missed by 1/16th of an inch and hit the banner ad instead. It makes me cringe, knowing that it shows up as someone clicking the banner ad and it’s giving them the wrong idea.

The mass migration has begun! I just joined too. Good job on creating and maintaining the site Bill. I think that this is going to be a great new home for the Cougar community. It’s taken some time, because MCN seemed like the best place to be for so long, but obviously things have changed, and you are offering more here than the corporate overlords there. Things will naturally take their course.

Welcome Andrew! (Blitz) Let me know if there is anything you need to facilitate posting your incredible videos.

Welcome aboard Andrew !

I just joined too. Great site!!

Welcome aboard “new guys”.

Nice to have you guys around!

Welcome

Nice to be here, loving this site. Thanks Bill and everyone else involved for your efforts!!!

Another one from the Willamette Valley (western Oregon) just joined too… I don’t own a Cougar, but I help work on BAust’s all the time, I feel a sense of pride and gratitude as if they are my own. Still holding out for a different friend to sell me his 70 Eliminator 428CJ…aww, (sigh), some day…In the mean time I enjoy gathering all of the great valuable information that this site will offer.

Welcome.
Are there plans to add a Cougar to your collection.
I’d like to see a pic of the 56 F100.

Thank you for the welcome! These communities are very valuable for information and a lot of fun.

I have bought and sold a few Cougars over the years. My next Cougar will be the 70 428CJ Eliminator that I reference, which is by far my favorite model. My friend who owns the Eliminator is big into the Pre-1934 luxury cars and he told me he would trade for something like that or he said that I will have to wait for his estate sale (unfortunately, I might have to do that :stuck_out_tongue: ).

My 56 F-100(still in progress, old picture from two years ago, but not much has changed)

Nice Effie!!! Welcome aboard!

Welcome. Nice truck.

Real Sweet Effie! Welcome!

Welcome, Silverton  A lot less drama going on here, don’t you think?

it is very nice to have a friend that feels a “part” of my cars too. It makes the whole hobbie a lot more fun. Now if we could just figure out a way to teleport our acreages next to each other…I think Cindy and I would both like that…

I’m so lucky to have the kind of wife who cherishes all the time we spend in the shop. I think she senses that I’m a lot happier and easier to tolerate when there is positive stuff happening out there
