I’m getting fluid leakage from the tail yoke seal from my recently rebuilt C6 trans for my 68 cougar. My trans guy is replacing the bushing inside the tailhousing. The yoke has some minor scoring where it rides on the bushing, so we decided it would be wise to replace it. The problem is I can’t find the same exact yoke. My output shaft has a rubber seal/bushing which we’re guessing is to keep fluid out of the yoke and eventually leaking out the end at the U joint. I can’t find a source for the 8 inch yoke that has the extra length past the internal splines to reach the rubber seal. The only yokes I can find are only approx 5 inches of spline, which covers the spline but stops short of the rubber seal. Has anyone run into this? Just a little concerned about leaking from the end of the new yoke, Ford must have done this for a reason.
