Someone out there could find a sheet of translucent plastic, cut these out and paint the black area. I would buy hundreds… They are so rare most folks do not even know they exist on 67-8 console cars.
Your best bet is going to be working with a plastic supplier. I’ve used a vacuum forming comany here in Portland from my last job but they weren’t anything to write home about and they were much larger parts.
Looks like Polyform or Bamberger Polymers are your best options in the Salem area. I can help with making drawings/3D models if you want, I’ll have to brush up on my plastics first but that shouldn’t be a difficult part to spec.
A utility blade and straight edge is all one needs. The heat from the bulb makes them permanently curved but the new part is flat. Painting would take longer than cutting the thin plastic parts from a sheet.
I purposely try to engage folks from our community in small projects like this and it has worked out great over the years. Guys like Michael Blum can crank out product at their kitchen table and fund their hobby, as it turns out they usually just spend all their earnings right back at my store. Somebody with a straight edge and a utility blade could crank out a years supply of these on the kitchen table real quick for pennies and sell them to me for a tidy profit. In the end everybody wins. I can point to a couple dozen items on my website that resemble projects like this .
Just yanking your chain! '67 and '68 AC center vents for XR-7 and Standard are coming soon… what ever that means these days. Just got the second notice that they had been shipped.
been waiting for this one. Please reserve one for me! Also need those side vents too

Ive done small projects like this or building and testing one off prototype stuff in the past and it can be fun while making a few bucks. Not much time these days to get into that anymore. Im sure someone can jump on these and have a small part in increasing the cougar parts availability.
