Being old school I’ve always been of the wax on wax off mentality for detailing except for tires, from the old days using turtle wax products to my current klasse products. But these days at shows I see people with products in spray bottles doing everything from exterior paint to engine compartment valve covers and so on. I guess I didn’t get the memo, what do you guys use?
Anything and everything from http://www.griotsgarage.com
Water and a rag.
Griot’s has got to be one of the very best products out there. A bit expensive, but well worth it.
I use Surf City Garage. We actually sell it in our store because I tried it and liked it better than what I’d been using, including Griot’s.
Hot Rod Detailer for spray wax detailing, Killer Chrome for the bumpers and wheels, Black Max for the vinyl top and rubber trim and Tire Pro for the tires. Finally, Voodoo Leather conditioner for the seats and Dash Away for the rest of the interior. The only SCG product I don’t use is the Clearly Better glass cleaner. I still think Stoners Invisible Glass does a better job.
I’ve used most of the products out there at one time or another, but I like the SCG stuff better. It’s more readily available for most people since it’s also sold at Walmart and other local stores).
Thanks for the info. Not saying I’m going that route, after the day before I’m not sure I want to go another round on the cat when I get to the show. But curiosity got the best of me seeing all these people re-detailing their cars when they get to the show.
I agree with Catvert68, Surf City’s detailer and Killer Chrome are great products. I posted about how well the Killer Chrome worked when other brands did nothing.
