Carroll Shelby

RIP to a legend.
Guy built some cracking cars.

Here’s to him. :beerchug:

Wow, this is the first I have heard of it. He was a great racer and car builder. He was one of my heros growing up.

Here’s to you Carroll.

Sad to hear, prayers to his family. He lived how he wanted…builing and driving fast cars. He will be missed.
Steven

:beerchug: R.I.P. Carroll.

Get up there and show Jim Morrison how to really drive a GT500.

RIP Carrol.

I’m not a big drinker but I’ll be tipping one back in his honor tonight.

RIP Carroll. You will live on through your cars.

Like the Dodge Shelby Charger

I have to admit I am very impressed by Carroll Shelby. He could sort out the turds from any punchbowl, make lemonade from lemons, and in any case get paid for it. Not only that he was one hell of a race driver, had pretty wives, and more liquor than one man deserves.

We should be glad he devoted much of his promotional skills to Ford products, and managed to make a ton of money on the XR7-G program without any effort on his part. If I could do what he did and get paid for it I would.

Here’s one for Carroll!

This is sad news.
I always log on to CCC to read good stuff, not this.

Here is to you Mr. Shelby. :beerchug:

wow. Not to downplay how much he will be missed but if you know about is past health problems, it’s amazing he made it this long. He was a great man indeed. A legend has passed. My condolences to his family.

Sad to see Carol go… Just did some work a few months ago on the intake for the supercharger to get a little more hp out of the new Shelby.

He was the inspiration for my daughters name… he always enjoyed hearing that. Picture taken at the Ford 100th.

A sad day indeed, Prayers for his family during this time.
Didn’t he have a hand in the “G” cougar?

I can remember being at an MCA national show, must have been 22-23 years ago, and some of my friends were standing in a long line on a hot day to have Ole Shel sign a glovebox door, a visor, shirt, etc. I thought they were crazy, and they said: “He’s got heart trouble, and might not be around much longer…”

He had a good run, and was a colorful character, and his creations mean an awful lot to an awful lot of people.
