Cars N Coffee pics. Eye Candy!!

Went to our local weekly Cars N’ Coffee drive in the morning. It runs from 8-10ish at a Corner Bakery by me. Brought my 11 yr old. He has been enjoying our visits lately. Perhaps it’s the hot chocolate and egg sandwich we are splitting.

There have been some pretty neat rides there lately. Here is a sampling of a few of them.

In this pic, the vette next to my Cougar is a 1967 327 4speed, and it is up for raffle next weekend. I bought 1, $100 ticket out of about 700 sold. Not bad odds. The drawing is next weekend. Not sure what the wife would say if it came home with me.

The pic below is of a 1934 Ford heavily customized. It has a Buick big block motor and is fully draped in red alligator skin.

I met this guy today with his recently purchased 1970 houndstooth vinyl roof Cougar. He evidently has about 15 Cougars. He is not on the forum and I gave him the web address.

Below is a nice customized 1967 Camaro RS. It has a LS3 crate motor. 6 speed Tremec. Really nice recent paint job.

Thought I’d add a pic. People have all tastes, don’t they.

Cars-n-Coffee is a great idea. We really need something like that here in my town. With my work schedule that would give me a chance to get out in the morning without tying up the whole day. Thanks for sharing the pictures. It looks like a great collection of cars. I really like the two Cougars the best!

Cool shots, thanks for the share  Imagine 2 cougars at one spotting, very rare these days. I’ll agree with Steven on the morning gathering, cool idea, and down here underline the word cool since it gets a tad hot during mid day  One of the reasons I like the cruise nights :smoke:

Well I really liked the idea of Cars-n-Coffee so I ran the idea by some friends. I’ve put together our first Cars-n-Coffee gathering at our new Starbucks for next Saturday morning. Four cars have commited so far not counting mine. So thanks again for sharing the pictures and the idea. I’ll snap photos next Saturday and post them.

This guy Jay has organized this event. There is a FB page you can search under to take a look at it if interested. It’s a great deal he has worked out with The Corner Bakery. Show up and you get a card for a free coffee. The idea is that you go inside and patronize Corner Bakery and get a breakfast sandwich. Which I always do.

In time you might be able to talk to the Starbucks manager and see if they are interested in doing this themselves.

Glad to hear of your excitement. You got the idea. Do it early and get on with your day.

Steven, do some searching around online. Cars and Coffee is a pretty popular thing right now, so there may already be a regular CNC event in your area. Not that you can’t start your own, but the more the merrier, right?

Thanks for the heads up on the FB page. I’ll check it out. I’ll wait and see how things go before approaching the Starbucks manager. Starbucks opened about a month ago so everything is still new. The parking lot is great for this. Next to the Starbucks is a dental office which is closed on the weekend and touching those parking lots is a Lowes.
Steven

Mike nothing like it in my area. The closest weekly classic car gathering is Friday evenings about 30 miles from where I live.

We had a regular event going locally here in Oz. The coffee place / diner / greazy spoon changed hands and the new owner couldn’t handle the patronage that we generated with around 200 cars, so now we have to find a new hang out.

Make sure that the coffee place has a big enough machine and enough staff to handle your volume and that the centre management doesn’t mind the extra traffic. Another place chained off their parking lot even though we were bringing a bunch of extra business to their centre

Are business owners in Oz all independently wealthy so they don’t want/need extra business?

Good points Leon. Those are things I had not thought about.

sweetair, where are you located?

I believe hat houndstooth Cougar came from Richmond, VA.

I am in MD. Just north of the beltway. He just bought it about a month ago or so. It has a 351 C auto in it. If that helps.

Sweetair,
Which part of Maryland? I grew up in Hyattsville and now live in Ashburn, VA. There is a Cruise-in at the Chick-Fil-A in Sterling (Dulles Town Center) on Friday nights that gets a nice turnout.

Well we had our first Cars-n-Coffee. We had three cars show up. We had a good time talking about cars and drinking coffee. My wife and I enjoyed taking our little one out to his first car event. Maybe next Saturday we might get a couple of more cars to show up. All in all it was a good time. Here are a couple of pictures I took.
