CatVert, of course, is #1 on that list. The 1964 Ranchero is probably #2 because I owned it when I lived in California and it was an original CA car in the condition you’d expect. #3 is probably a tie between the 1997 Camaro Z-28 30th Anniversary (because I was the original owner and it was a factory ordered 6-speed car) and the 1988 triple-black Z52 Corvette (just, well, because).

#'s 4 and 5 are both Cougars - my first '68 XR-7, which was a twin to the car that became Catvert but with a 3-speed stick, and the '67 standard that Chris Gauch (rcode) bought from me and still has. That was a low-optioned South Carolina standard with a 3-speed stick. Just a very nice, very honest car that I could have had a lot of fun with, as Chris is now doing.

There is one car on that list that I didn’t sell. The '65 Tempest convertible died in a head-on collision with a wrong-way drunk driver on I-84 in CT when I was 17. That was the first car I bought with my own money and the drunk was uninsured. So my regrets with that one aren’t about selling, just the way I lost it.

I wouldn’t mind having the Mach 1 back, either, since that was a Q-code 4-speed car.

Can you beat the number of cars I own/have owned?

Nope.

This from a continuously edited list I had fun with building this year from memory…it’s funny how some of the used cars(even a couple new ones!) from the past can be totally forgotten

I’m at exactly a car per year on average. . It sure is tough to collect a retirement with this habit/hobby…unless of course you count the cars as the retirement lol

Several days after I posted my list, I realized I’d left off my 2007 Chrysler Crossfire Limited convertible. And I only sold that about 18 months ago. I also left my 2012 Mercedes C300 Sport 4Matic off the list and that’s the car I own now!

  17. 72 Maverick 2dr (302) (was a 250 but put a 69 302 in it)
  18. 67 Cougar xr7 (302) (still have the 289 but put the 69 302 from the maverick in it)

Still have the 67 Fairlane and 67 Cougar xr7.

Before I junked my 72 Maverick I strip just about everything out of it. Starting to think I may be about to use most of the ac unit in the Cougar.
