Here is an update for the SVRA race and car show CATS is attending this weekend June 17, 18 at Indy speedway. The weather looks great with a 10% chance of rain on Friday and 0% chance Saturday show day. Few clouds on Friday high of 90°F with some humidity. Saturday bright and sunny with a high of 83°F and lower humidity. I’ll take that weather forecast for a fun weekend 
Not much shade in the show field so plan accordingly. I plan on driving my Cougar to the show and most likely won’t have room for the club canopy. Bringing a umbrella for shade would be a good option. If you bring your own canopy they ask you to take it down during the drive on the race track. They don’t want cars leaving and entering the show field to drive on the track having to maneuver around canopies.
Friday June 17 Indy speedway museum. We will meet at the museum parking lot 2:00pm. Address is 4750 W 16th St, Indianapolis, IN 46222. Museum is located between turns 1-2. Enter by gate 2 off from 16 street south tunnel. Free entrance and parking at the museum. We got a group rate of $12 a person general admission. Tell them you’re with the CATS Cougar club. Generally it takes 1-2 hours to visit the museum depending on your interest in the content. https://imsmuseum.org/ Parking lot pizza Friday evening. The plan is to get some pizza and have a fun comradery get together at the host hotel parking lot.
Saturday June 18 SVRA race & show Indy speedway. We will meet and depart as a group to the show around 8:00am from the host hotel parking lot. check in at the lot across from the tunnel entrance on 16th street. Then you’ll be directed to go through the tunnel and follow the car show signs to the show area. You will receive your registration pack at check in at the show. You will be eligible for the show awards. However, CATS isn’t doing our own awards at the show as we have done in the past. Basically I haven’t had time to set that up for this show. Spend the day enjoying the car show & Cougars. Lots of racing action will be going on and pit access. 12:45 to 1:20 time is when the show cars will be allowed to drive on the track!

You will receive Two (2) 2-day passes with your entry fee. Additional attendees will pay the regular event spectator admittance fee.

How will I get my registration packet?

Where do I enter to display my car if I am arriving with a trailer?
Please advise us by emailing tc@svra.com well in advance of the event if you will be arriving with a trailer so we may direct you in the parking of your trailer and placement of your show car.
I want to park with my friends/club, how would I do that?
If you will be attending with friends or attending as a club it is best if you all meet up at an outside location and then enter at one time. You will not be able to hold spaces.
May I have a “For Sale” sign visible?
In order to maintain the integrity of the event, “For Sale” signs are not permitted on show cars.
Is there a rain date?
The car show is a rain or shine event.
CATS main event for 2022 is the Sports Car Vintage Racing Association weekend racing and car show at the Indianapolis speedway! This event takes place June 17-19 with the car show June 18 supported by Hagerty cars & coffee event. We are planning to make this a two day event for us. On Saturday is the SCVRA race and car show. The car show will be in the infield at Indy race track and have full access to the pit area. Vintage road course racing will be happening all day on the track. I know of two vintage Cougars that usually race at their events. Also taking place the Shelby Club of America is have their national show at the event. Should be some nice Shelby’s in attendance. If that’s not enough, you also get to drive your Cougar on the brickyard Indy race track! For the SCVRA car show you have to register online with them to attend. The cost is $75 and includes your car and two people for the show & race Saturday. Also, the race on Sunday if you choose to stay for that day as well. Our host hotel is The Microtel Inn 5815 Rockville rd , IN 46224. The room rate of $109 (regular at $129) for the dates of June 16-18. . Call the hotel direct to book your room, and the block of rooms is under my name (Brian Carpenter) to get the rate call: 317-247-9703 If this hotel doesn’t work for you there is other options to stay right in the same block around Sam’s club. Google the host hotel address and right at the same location you can choose from a Holiday Inn express, motel 6 , Wingate and a Best Western is on the west side of 465 that might be an option. I choose the Microtel as our host hotel based on parking availability, price, and room reviews compared to the other options in the area.
