CATS show at Dan Pfeiffer

Join the CATS Classic Cougar Club August 27, 2016 at Dan Pfeiffer Lincoln dealership on 28th street in Grand Rapids MI to celebrate the 50th anniversary. This will take place during the Metro cruise event http://www.28thstreetmetrocruise.com/ This is an all-day event and you can come and go as you want and cruise 28th street which is much nicer to cruise then Woodward in Detroit with a lot less congestion. There will be a food wagon on the lot, but there are MANY eateries within walking distance…Subway, Wendy’s, Paterno Pizza, Bagel Beanery, a sushi place, Tim Horton, Penn Station Subs. So, why should I attend you ask… You get to hangout and meet other CATS club members as this is our first official gathering since restarting the CATS club. Maybe have John Classic Cougars deliver some much needed parts to you there and save on some shipping cost. We also have a special feature planned.
Make sure you are at the dealership at 11:00am. Dan Pfeiffer is going to give a presentation about his many years of selling Cougars and how he became the sponsor of “Dyno” Don Nicholson Cougar Eliminator in 1969. He has many stories to tell and I’ve heard a couple of them, so you don’t want to miss this presentation. Wait there is more…
At this point John & Dee Baumann have it 80% confirmed that Rick Kelbaugh is going to bring his Dyno Don’s 1969 Eliminator clone/tribute drag car powered by a 427. Come and hang out with other CATS members, hear an interesting presentation from Dan Pfeiffer. Then spent the rest of the day cruising 28th street in your Cougar, or if you prefer, stick around the dealership & enjoy the cars at the Show.

Thanks,
Brian Carpenter, President CATS Classic Cougar club

I took Pole Cat to Detroit last year for the Woodward Cruise. Yea, it is very cool to see but, OMG waaay to many people. And the heat that day was ridicules with 5 miles of stop and go traffic cars were overheating everywhere. Last year, I would bet the temperature on Woodward was 110* as the air temp was like 95*. I will be going to GR.

Reminder that this Saturday is our CATS show at Dan Pfeiffer dealership. Weather forecast is sunny and a high of 79° with low humidity which makes for a perfect car show day. Talked with Ike Keeler a month ago and he said if his schedule worked out he would try and bring his T/A Cougar

Kin Bray is also going to try and make the show with his 428CJ GT-E

CATS had a total of 14 Cougars despite the soggy start. Dan Pfeiffer said John Baumann was in charge of weather, so we fired him. The only one I didn’t get a picture of was Kim Bray 428CJ GTE as he had to leave early. Dan put on a very interesting presentation with his Mercury involvement over the 50 years he has been in business. I video taped it and will show it during the 50th at Ford WHQ unless Dan is able to present in person. If it wasn’t for the brisk sales of Cougars he wouldn’t be in business today. Wish the weather would have been better so you Cougar owners further away could have attended.
