Center Console shifter indicator

Hello all,

One last question for the day:

When my car is in park, all is well with the center console. As I slide the shifter further and further back, the gear indicator drops down further and further into the center console.
As I slide it back into park, it rises back up into the correct position.

Does it sound like I need the whole new indicator bezel, or can I fab up the pieces needed to get working correctly again?

I can’t look at it right now, as I am away from work, just seeing what parts I might need to buy to have waiting for when I get back home.

I may as well make WCCC the forwarding address for my paychecks…

If I were to guess, the rear pin on the black plastic shift indicator is broken and the square washer may be missing. These would hold up off of the trans tunnel and secure the black plastic piece to the console frame. You should be able to fix it up without spending a bunch of money.
