I’ve got my original blue dash pad from my car that is in nearly perfect condition. It’s been in storage since '78.
I really really don’t want to have to paint it.
There is some pretty nasty nicotine staining on it.
I’ve tried several household cleaners simple green, the purple stuff etc. and nothing seems to even touch the staining.
Is there anything out there that is good at cutting through nicotine without ruining the original vinyl?
You can try the product I live by, it’s called Greased Lightning, if that won’t take it off, it’s there to stay, and it won’t hurt the vinyl. also great for a cleaner before a re-dye.
Never thought about wd40. Kind of funny that nasa developed it as a de-icer and it has proven useful for so many other things. Greased Lightning and Mean Green are my standbys. If they don’t work it’s time for Awesome. That stuff will clean off just about anything.
