Haven’t had to shop for a clutch in a while. I need to replace my clutch for a stock 289 4 barrel with a T-5 transmission. I drive the car, not a trailer queen. I want to stick with an OE level clutch. Any recommendation on lever/long or diaphragm style pressure plate, clutch disc material and brand of clutch?
Thanks.
I used Centerforce, but had 2 failures of the disc.
I now run McLeod clutches.
Diaphragm style allows a easier pedal w/ some sight mods. Standard street material is fine.
I always have used Mcleod Long style (OEM FORD TYPE) clutches. Never had a problem. Recently I have bought all of them through David Kee. I bought some previously from Summit Racing.

Thanks everyone. I will check out your recommendations.
I’m using a Ram diaphragm pressure plate, organic clutch disc, and aluminum flywheel now. I’m pleased with the system. Purchased through Summit.
Bear in mind I always replace the clutch pivot bushing with roller bearings. It makes the effort monumentally easier. Normally the factory pivot is completely worn out so it is a must. Mustang Steve has kits, so does Summit.
