Convertible top is tearing... can it be stabilized or fixed?

I just love to drive my CatVert all around during summer. Unfortunately the vinyl roof seams are in active process of tearing, at the first line of plying next to the windshield.
Is there anything that can be done to stop that process, and ideally repair the roof, to avoid having to replace it.
Thanks in advance.

Have you had an upholstery shop look at it?

Someone slashed my top at work one time and I used a baseball stitch to pull it back together.
It held up for years without a single drip.

Thanks for the advise.
I am leaning toward stitching with nylon then patch with PVC repair kit (Urethane glue in MEK), brand and color yet to be found.
