So there was no stock coolant/antifreeze tank on a ‘69 Cougar. Is anyone running a coolant overflow tank or reservoir and if so, what set up do you have?
Thanks

I don’t have a 69, but I am using one of these on two of my builds: https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedway-13-Inch-Stainless-Steel-Coolant-Expansion-Overflow-Tank,2954.html?_gl=1*c9na9*_up*MQ.
That looks great Local_Hero, did you have to change or use a special radiator cap?
I definitely prefer “Local Hero’s” option, and may look into that myself (for a 1970). However, it was suggested to me by someone on the forum that they had mounted a conventional aftermarket expansion tank inside the right front fender - I haven’t done it yet myself but had planned on investigating the situation (eventually).
Nothing special. Just make sure the cap has the inner seal on the springy part of the cap so that the radiator can recover whatever it might puke out as it cools back down.
Many companies sell that style tank. You can shop around. The one I linked is EXACTLY what’s on my car. The one on my other build I think came from Summit while I was making a large purchase of multiple things.
